The Jorhat Engineering College was established in 1960 by the Govt. of Assam. It is one of the premier technical colleges in the northeastern region. The college as well as all the courses are recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E.) and affiliated to The Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh, Assam ( www.dibru.ac.in) .
