One of the leading departments of this college is Electrical Engineering Department. It was started since the establishment of the college in 1960, with an annual intake of 60 students. After bifurcation of 20 students from the Electrical Engineering to the Instrumentation Engineering Branch in the year 1992-93 the department has an annual intake capacity of 40 students, from the second year student. This department offers Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Initially the curriculum was based on the Electrical Machines and Power System Engineering. With the changing scenario of technological developments, the curriculum has been restructured several times during the last two decades. This has enabled the students to become familiar with the latest technology.

| Library Facilities: In addition to the main library of the college, the department has a library with reading room facilities. The department library consists of a number of Journals, Bulletins, Textbooks, and References and IS Codes related to different areas of Electrical Engineering. The library also stores sufficient number of project reports. Both students and faculty member avail the library facilities. |
